Deep in the mine, NAME found the source of the sound. It was a destrachan that was pinned by a cave in. It was trapped, but its head and arms were free and it was still a fearsome foe. The bodies of two miners who disappeared into the mine a few days ago attested to that.

NAME leveled his/her WEAPONTYPE at the monster. He/She took a deep breath and ATTACKED the monster with a precision strike. It died, and finally the wailing stopped. The miners were overjoyed and rewarded NAME with some samples of the mine's riches.

NAME leveled her/his WEAPONTYPE at the monster. She/He took a deep breath and ATTACKED the monster. Her/His strike was off target and gravely wounded the creature instead of killing it. The creature took a breath and unleashed a thunderous sonic pulse that knocked NAME back against the far wall. The force of the blast caused another cave-in, trapping NAME. Fortunately, another adventurer came by just a few hours later, dug them out, and finished off the monster. She gave NAME a share of the treasure for wounding the beast.
